James O. Breen, M.D.
Board-certified Family Physician
with over 25 years of practice experience
I'm Dr. James Breen, a board-certified family physician with a focus on Lifestyle Medicine, practicing in southwest Florida since 2017.

This practice is founded as a way to offer personal, lifestyle-driven primary care that's focused on you. The practice operates in the model of Direct Primary Care, offering physician services for an affordable monthly fee, without additional visit fees or "co-pays"--insurance is not required. We also offer discounts on ancillary services such as labs and radiology for low cash prices.

With a commitment to your health, I've designed Benedict Medicine to make it easy for you to get the care you need, when you need it.

Benedict Medicine Is Different.
Benedict Medicine offers the comprehensive medical care of a board-certified physician--with an emphasis on Lifestyle Medicine--for adults and children, from all walks of life and at every stage. We believe the best of today's medical knowledge should be coupled with the respect due to each person.
As a Direct Primary Care practice,
insurance is not required to receive the highest quality, personalized care without the red tape.
Benedict Medicine offers primary care that's focused on you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I still need health insurance?
Direct Primary Care isn't insurance and doesn't replace it. Many members keep a lower-cost or high-deductible plan for hospitalizations and specialists, while using their membership for everyday primary care. Insurance is never required to be a member here.
Q: What about specialists, hospitals, or the ER?
Your membership covers primary care. When you need a specialist, imaging, or hospital care, Dr. Breen coordinates your referrals — and members receive deeply discounted cash rates on many labs and imaging studies.
Q: Are there any extra fees or copays?
No copays and no per-visit fees. Your flat monthly membership covers your primary care visits. A few procedures requiring outside pathology may carry a small additional charge, always disclosed up front.
Q: Can my whole family join?
Yes. Benedict Medicine welcomes patients from 5 years old to seniors. Each member's monthly fee is based simply on their age band.
Q: Am I locked into a contract?
Never. There are no long-term contracts — membership is month-to-month, with no gimmicks.
